Create custom shopper segments with Dynamic Segments

What’s new

Merchandisers and marketers can now create their own Dynamic Segments directly in Audience Hub.

Building on the dynamic geo segments already available in Searchandising, Dynamic Segments expands this flexibility across segment types. You can combine existing segments to create new segments tailored to your business needs, preview their size and performance before saving, and manage them all in one place.

Once created, Dynamic Segments are available across the Constructor dashboard just like your existing segments.

Why it matters

Every business thinks about its shoppers a little differently. Dynamic Segments gives you more flexibility to explore those audiences and create views that better reflect your merchandising and marketing strategies.

For example, you could create:

  • High-intent product audiences: Combine shoppers with an affinity for shirts and the color blue to understand who may be most interested in a new collection of blue shirts.
  • Strategic regional groups: Combine multiple geographic regions into business-defined territories or markets — such as grouping warm-weather regions together to promote air conditioners or seasonal apparel.
  • Conversion opportunities: Identify highly engaged, frequent visitors who haven’t purchased and have an affinity for home décor, creating an audience that could be targeted with a relevant promotion or incentive.

Where to find it

Go to Analytics → Audience Hub and select New Segment on the right side of the page below the metrics overview.

From there, the new segment builder lets you:

  • Build a segment from existing audiences
  • Preview its size and performance metrics in real time
  • Refine your criteria before saving
  • Save the segment for use across the Constructor dashboard

Saved segments will appear in the new Dynamic tab in Audience Hub, giving you one place to view and manage all of your custom Dynamic Segments.
