Who changed this synonym? Find out in the dashboard!

You may remember from January 31st that we added the capability to see who last made a change to searchandising rules. We have now added this functionality to synonyms along with the ability to filter by user. Changes made to synonyms will have both timestamp and user information attached, however changes made prior to today will not have any user information shown. Surfacing this information can be especially useful for troubleshooting and auditing purposes.

Easily determine how long to run your A/B tests for!

We know that it can be difficult sometimes to determine when you should stop your A/B test and when you should let it run for longer to gather more valuable data from your customers to optimize your product discovery experience.

As we continue to build unique features you can use in your A/B tests, our next addition to this powerful functionality aims to help you make that critical decision about when to stop your test. The Minimum Detectable Effect (MDE) chart will show how long you should leave your test to run for in order to achieve the accuracy of results you desire.

The Minimum Detectable Effect is the smallest difference between two versions (e.g. with global rules vs. without, or one recommendations strategy vs. another) that you want to reliably identify as significant. It helps determine whether observed differences are meaningful or simply due to chance, ensuring that your test results are dependable. The lower the MDE you desire, the more data and therefore traffic you need to calculate it.

As you can see in the image of a test report, the longer the test runs for, the more accurate the results get with more data from your customers. While we usually recommend stopping a test once you have achieved 3% MDE, you can now make a more informed decision about whether you are comfortable stopping it earlier for more directional results, or leaving it to run for a greater accuracy.

This new chart will also be available when setting up a new test, so that you can see how long you can expect it to run for before starting it.

For more information about this capability, see this help article about A/B Testing. If you still have questions, connect with your Customer Success Manager or contact us through support@constructor.io.

Navigate with Ease: Say Hello to Our Enhanced Dashboard Navigation

We’re constantly looking for ways to give our customers more tools and capabilities to understand and control their product discovery experience and this often translates into new functionality in our dashboard. As we’ve added all kinds of new products and features, we’ve heard from our customers that it can be sometimes challenging to find what they’re looking for - we heard, and we’re here to help.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve revamped the navigation in the dashboard with refreshed sections and groupings of capabilities within those sections - for example, capabilities to manage the onsite experience in the Workspace section and analytics within the Analytics section. Feedback we received through the development process from dashboard users we previewed with was that the new navigation was really intuitive and easier to navigate. We can’t wait for you to try it out!

You can check out the new navigation by opting into the new experience using a toggle available in your profile section within the dashboard. We know that getting used to a big change like this can take time, so you’ll be able to toggle in and out of the new experience for the next couple of weeks to give you a chance to get used to it when it feels more comfortable for you.

Opt in and out of the new navigation using the toggle in your profile section.

For any questions, comments or feedback about this new experience, please connect with your Customer Success Manager or contact us through support@constructor.io.

Optimize Your Enriched Attributes View with Filters

The Attribute Enrichment Dashboard serves as a central hub where AI-predicted enriched attributes are showcased. Merchandisers working with product data can leverage this dashboard to review and validate the attributes added by AI. This step is crucial in ensuring that the enriched attributes align with the merchandisers' expectations and the overall product strategy.

We are excited to introduce a powerful enhancement to the Attribute Enrichment Dashboard: the ability to filter by product categories and types of enriched attributes. Filters streamline the process of reviewing and blocklisting attributes by giving merchandisers the ability to focus on specific product categories and attribute types. A more tailored view ensures that merchandisers can efficiently manage and optimize attribute enrichment for different product segments:

  • For example, by selecting the "Footwear" category filter, merchandisers can view attributes enriched for shoes, boots, and sandals. This focused view enables them to optimize attribute enrichment specifically for footwear products.
  • Or, merchandisers can filter for the "Color" attribute to focus specifically on attributes related to color options available for various items.

How It Works:

  • Navigate to the Attribute Enrichment Dashboard.
  • Select the "Filters" option located in the upper-left corner.
  • Use the category filter dropdown to select a specific product category or multiple categories.
  • Use the attribute filter dropdown to select the desired attribute type from the available options.
  • The dashboard will refresh to show enriched attributes of the chosen type for the chosen category.

“Who did this?” Find out in the dashboard!

Starting today, you will be able to see who last modified rules in Search, Browse and Campaigns in the dashboard. Changes made to Searchandising rules will have both timestamp and user information attached, however changes made prior to today will not have any user information shown. This feature will appear on the Searchandising list page as a new column beside Modified timestamp. With this release the ability to filter changes made by a specific user is also added to the listing view, allowing customers to quickly find out what changes a specific user has made. Surfacing this information can be especially useful for troubleshooting and auditing purposes.

In our continuing effort to ensure you can deliver the very best experience for your customers and your business, we’re very excited to announce the latest feature within our Merchant Intelligence product: the ability to A/B test recommendations pods right within the customer dashboard! This adds to the existing A/B testing capability for global search and browse merchandising rules.

Setting up a new test is easy: just select the recommendations pod you want to experiment with, the strategy to test against, and the division of your users who will see each variant, and presto! Your experiment will begin immediately and you’ll know for sure which is the most optimal experience for your customers.

Show off all your product options with Variation Slicing

Variation Slicing Searchandising Rule is now available for Search and Browse.

Slicing out variants of Shirt Size

You can find this new Searchandising Rule in the sidebar along with our other rule types when adding a Search or Browse rule.

The Variation Slicing Rule was already available via API but is now available in the dashboard. This rule allows the separation of product variations into individual product tiles on a given search term or category page. With this rule, you will now have the ability to slice out product variants based on a specified attribute, such as size, pattern, color, style, etc. This can be especially helpful for customers with product variations that you want to show individually to your end users based on context. Say for example on a search for a specific style of shirt you want to highlight all the color options you have - now you can easily do this with Variation Slicing!

Filter for Specific Results with the Allowlist Rules

Allowlist Searchandising Rule is now available in Search to further refine product listings.

Applying an Allowlist Rule to query: “apple”

You can find this new Searchandising Rule in the side bar along with our other rule types when adding a Search rule.

The Allowlist Rule allows you to further refine your result set for specific types of products. With this new rule type, you will now have the ability to filter products based on a specified attribute or combination of attributes, like category, brand, color, etc. This can be especially helpful in situations where you want to provide a specific or highly curated set of results to your end users.

Export Feature Now Available in Attribute Enrichment Dashboard

We're excited to announce the Export Feature in the Attribute Enrichment dashboard. Now, you can generate CSV export files containing the AI-enhanced attributes for items and variations with a simple click!

This marks an additional step in empowering our customers to effortlessly integrate AI-enriched product data outside of just their search engine. An advantage with Constructor’s Attribute Enrichment module is that you automatically get access to enriched attributes within every experience Constructor powers, but we’ve been looking for ways to make our AI-enriched attributes usable outside of just the experiences Constructor powers. With this export functionality, you can now import enriched attributes for use in PIM or syndication systems, off-site, and anywhere else having correct product data could be a benefit. While we're on the path to even more seamless integrations, this feature allows you to upload enriched data via CSV for immediate impact.

Whether you're aiming to update the data in your PIM system or prefer to review and analyze data in familiar spreadsheet tools, the Export Feature offers increased flexibility. The CSV format ensures compatibility with a wide range of applications, allowing you to work with the data in the way that best suits your needs.

For more information about this capability, please connect with your Customer Success Manager or contact us through support@constructor.io. We will be happy to demo it for you!
