Connect your SAP Commerce catalog to Constructor

SAP Commerce retailers can now send their catalog data to Constructor using the SAP Commerce Cartridge—a reusable integration for products, variations, categories, and custom metadata.

Connecting an enterprise catalog shouldn’t mean building a one-off integration for every implementation. The cartridge gives retailer developers and implementation teams a repeatable way to bring SAP Commerce data into Constructor, with scheduled full and incremental exports.

For commerce and product teams, this means less bespoke catalog integration work and a clearer path to making product details, variants, and category structures available for search and discovery—including across multilingual stores.

What’s enabled

  • A reusable SAP integration: Install a dedicated SAP Commerce extension to export catalog data to Constructor, rather than starting with a custom connector build.
  • Updates on your schedule: Use frequent incremental exports to send changed products, alongside periodic full exports to refresh the catalog and remove deleted products.
  • Products, variations, and categories: Bring product families, their variants, and your category hierarchy into Constructor to support richer product discovery.
  • Flexible catalog metadata: Map product attributes and classification values—such as brand, color, or size—into custom metadata without writing a new connector. More advanced transformations can use custom providers and extension hooks.
  • Multilingual catalog support: Configure a separate export target and Constructor index for each language, making the integration repeatable across localized catalogs.

How to get started

  1. Contact your Constructor team to request the cartridge package, connection credentials, and setup guidance.
  2. Install and configure the cartridge in your SAP Commerce environment. Set up an export target for your store, language, and Constructor index, and map the catalog fields you want to send.
  3. Run your first full export, then schedule incremental updates and periodic full refreshes to suit your catalog workflow.
  4. Verify your data in Constructor. Review connection status in Integration → Connections and confirm accepted uploads in Integration → Catalog Uploads.

The cartridge exports catalog data only; price and stock are not included. Deployment, field mapping, and validation are part of the implementation process.
